QuicKeys 5 Features

General
Automated Tasks
Multi-step Shortcut Tools

General
Triggers: hot keys, speech triggers, toolbars & timers
•  Use hot keys, which can be virtually any key combination, to trigger your QuicKeys Shortcuts.
•  With Speech triggers, you can simply choose a keyword or phrase to trigger a Shortcut.
•  Create toolbars that contain buttons for any or all of your Shortcuts. Like other triggers, toolbars can be for all applications or application specific (the toolbar will only appear when the specified application is open). Toolbar tabs allow you to have one toolbar with multiple tabs - each containing different sets of Shortcuts.
•  Set timers to activate Shortcuts at a specified time on any day of the week. Date & Time triggers can repeat at an interval you define.
•  Launch Shortcuts, open the QuicKeys Editor and control playback of steps from custom menu selections in the QuicKeys Menu.
Recording & Playback:
•  With the recording feature, QuicKeys will watch and record your actions so you can play them back at any time. This feature is great for quickly automating longer, multi-step tasks.
Scope: all applications & application-specific Shortcuts
•  Designate Shortcuts to work only in certain applications or in all applications.
Shortcut Import & Export:
•  Transfer your Shortcuts to another computer or user. Great for utilizing the same Shortcuts on multiple computers or for sharing your favorite Shortcuts with friends or co-workers.

Automated Tasks
File Tools: File Launch, Batch Processor, File Handler, File Recall & Project Saver
•  Launch applications and documents quickly with a single trigger.
•  Run a QuicKeys Sequence on a group of files. For example resize and convert a group of images from BMP to GIF format with a single command.
•  Move or copy files and folders to a specified destination. Great for archiving or backing up a large number of files.
•  Find and retrieve recently modified files quickly by using File Recall to display a list of files modified within a certain period of time.
•  Use folders to access your frequently used folders quickly.
•  Instantly open the applications and documents you were working on using the Project Saver Shortcut. Before you shut down your computer for the day, trigger the Project Saver Shortcut. The next time you start up your computer and trigger that Shortcut, each application and document you were working on will be launched and ready for use.
System Tools: Alias Keystroke, Button, Click, Menu, Fkeys, Mousies, Specials, App Switcher, Lock Screen, MacOS Specials, Powerbook Specials, Scrap Ease
•  Override keystroke assignments built into your applications by re-mapping existing hotkeys.
•  Click radio buttons and check boxes, mimic mouse clicks or select any item from a menu. Often used in multi-step Shortcuts, these tools allow you to control almost any facet of a program’s interface.
•  Remap Function keys like Capture Screen & Capture Selection.
•  Control the appearance and behavior of your Mac without having to use your mouse. The controls available include close, zoom and collapse window, home, end, line up and down, page up and down, column left and right and page left and right.
•  Automatically control the operation of your computer, switch desktop windows, change typography and manipulate QuicKeys functions.
•  Move between applications with a keystroke rather than a series of mouse clicks.
•  Obscure information on your computer screen when you leave your computer by using the Lock Screen Shortcut to blacken the screen and require a password to unlock.
•  Automate frequently performed Mac tasks such as turning the balloon help on and off, stop and start file sharing, stop and start program linking as well as next and previous application.
•  Use a suite of Shortcuts, designed specifically for Powerbook users, to control things like spinning down the hard drive when not in use, displaying the battery desk accessory so you can check your power reserves, toggling backlighting along with many other useful Powerbook tools.
•  Create and organize collections of images and text for quick retrieval in any application.
•  Change your screen settings for different applications or different monitors. For example you can automatically switch between laptop screen settings and the desktop screen settings.
•  Instantly change the style, size and arrangement of your icons.
Internet: Instant e-mail & Web Launcher
•  Enclose any file and send an e-mail in one step.
•  Launch your favorite and most frequently visited web sites instantly, from any application or open selected text as a URL.
Text Tools: Advanced Text Tools, Password Vault, Type Date & Time, Type Text
•  Clean and reformat text from the web or an e-mail message. Automatically removes carriage returns from web text and eliminates quote symbols from e-mail messages.
•  Store secure information, such as e-mail passwords, to save time when launching password protected files or programs without risking the integrity of passwords.
•  Insert the date and/or time in the format you define.
•  Automatically type predefined blocks of text with a single trigger.
Network Tools: Choosy, Mounty, & Network Switcher
•  Use a QuicKeys Shortcut to automatically switch between different printers and zones on the network.
•  Access network drives instantly. Great for use in a sequence to mount volumes for backing up your files.
•  Instantly change your network settings.
Scripting Tools: Apple Events, AppleScript, & DoScript
•  Send Apple Events direct to running Applications
•  Use AppleScript and QuicKeys to run scripts or control applications that do not support AppleScript.
•  Use DoScript to directly send application specific scripts.
Multimedia Tools: Audio CD Player, QT Movie, Sound, Speak Ease & SpeakerChanger
•  Use hotkeys to operate your Audio CD Player or QT Movies.
•  Use Sound to toggle between alert sounds.
•  Trigger your computer to speak specific words or phrases from text you enter or from text that is on the Clipboard.
•  Adjust the volume of your computer.

Multi-step Shortcut Tools
Sequence Tools: Decision, GoSub, Jump, Message, Pop-up Menu, Repeat & Wait
•  Use Decision Shortcut to add logic to your sequences by instructing QuicKeys how to react based on the outcome of that particular step.
•  Trigger a different Shortcut as a step within your sequence.
•  Jump to another step in your sequence when specified conditions are met.
•  Have a custom dialog appear at a designated point in your sequence. Perfect for adding user prompts to a sequence.
•  Select an item in a pop-up menu. This Shortcut is extremely useful because it enables you to select items within dialogs that may appear during your sequence.
•  Repeat a Shortcut or specified steps within a multi-step Shortcut.
•  Pause a Shortcut for a user-specified length of time during playback, allowing you to time events better, ensuring QuicKeys does not get ahead of the action.
